Where the artistry, grace, effort and competition meet. Capturing the moment.
This shot, of a high 5 shows the friendship and respect that should be present in sport. The runner just hit his first homer ever. All of the infielders congratulated and gave high fives as he ran the bases. Compete fiercely, respect and appreciate the performance, the game, and the players
Celebration! #11 just scored the go ahead goal with an amazing bicycle kick off of a crossing pass from the right side. The shot captures the joy of the team as they rush to congratulate the scorer.
I like the simplicity of this picture. The rider is isolated from the gravel road back ground. The other thing that works for me is the relaxed look on his face and the small plant on handlebars. You can almost picture a basket of groceries from the farmers market. Keep in mind this is at about 40 miles of 45 mile Grasshopper Adventure series ride.
This shot captures the Goalie making a diving save from just outside the 18 yd box. Goalies must make split second decisions and have the ability to focus throughout the game. One small mistake can have drastic impact on the outcome of the match. We applaud their acrobatics, when live, but to capture the moment gives a greater appreciation of their sacrifice.
The moment is captured. The dust flying. the catcher lays down the tag. The runner slides into home. Safe or Out only the Umpire can decide. In this shot I like the story being told. The bat in the base line. The fan ready to cheer. The focus of the runner on the glove.
As winter moves into spring the track and field season begins. Entry into the 2019 season will be remembered as one of the wettest and coldest in recent memory. The old saying March comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb comes to mind. The athletes are primed and the excitement is real. Track is upon us.

The 2nd. event of the Grasshopper Adventure Series for 2019. The official start was at Memorial Beach in Healdsburg. The riders road westside road to the name sake Sweetwater Springs Rd. To make it Super the riders took a right turn off of hwy 116 and headed up Austin Creek rd. and enjoyed the climb towards Fort Ross. I am sure the Myers Grade provided amazing views and a dose of adrenaline. Most of my pictures were taken on Willow Creek road. I believe it was supposed to still be the “Paved” section of the course but, Mother Nature had other ideas. After passing by, the rides hit the gravel and climbed to the top of Willow Creek.
